Exeant: let them go out

Information on adding and managing establishments in Exeant

Each Exeant site caters for one or more extablishments, such as a single school, a group of academies or all schools and youth establishments in a local authority.

If you are a single school or establishement using Exeant independently of any other establishments, your Exeant site will have already been set up with your details by the time you are granted access.

Where there are multiple establishments involved (e.g. LA or Academy Trust group), these will need to be set up within the system by the Employer, who is able to add establishments by filling in a simple, self-explanatory form.

Each establishment needs a unique identifier in the system. For schools, we recommend that you use their full seven digit DFE number (three digits for the local authority and four for the school). For other establishments without a DFE number we recommend that you invent a suitable unique identifier. It doesn't really matter what it is, but it might make sense to have it prefixed with your three digit LA code, and maybe use 4 other digits which don't clash with any other establishments.

One point to note is that the 'Establishment enabled' tickbox must be ticked in order for users from that establishement to be able to register and fully utilise the system. If you need to restrict an establishment's access to the system (for example if they leave the Local Authority), you can untick this box. Ordinary users from that establishment will no longer be able to access the system, and the EVC, Head and anyone else with establishment-wide read access to the system will be granted read access to existing visits in the system.
